The only thing that anyone needed saving from on this day was the weather! It was cold and gusty. Rain was in the air and had recently fallen. It was grey and miserable and I could tell faith levels were low. Gosh, mine weren’t that high and I was the leader!
Sitting alone on a park bench was a man eating his sandwich lunch. I went up to him and said I was a Christian offering to pray for anyone who needed healing and did he?
“As a matter of fact”, he said,“I do”
“I was knocked off my bicycle a few days ago and have a couple of broken ribs causing a lot of pain.”
I called Natasha over to help me, which she dutifully did. I asked if I could lay my hand on his side to pray and then went for it! “Ribs be healed. Pain go in Jesus’ name.”
After a minute or two he jerked back and said, “How did you do that?”
“The pain is 50%, no 60%, no 70% better!”
After a few moments the pain was gone and he accepted Jesus into his life!
One more for the kingdom!
Missiologists, experts on reaching people, have a model to reach those people – find a need, create a ministry to serve that need, and in the process make friends and influence people to Jesus. I like that model, I use that model, but I LOVE Jesus’s model!!
I would really love to hear your own experiences.
God is good!!
