It was at the end of our second last meeting of the year at SSE. We had been having some prophecy appointments from some very anointed, gifted prophets. At the end of the session, one of them asked for prayer for healing. [video]. She wanted prayer for her shoulder and vertebrae in her back, which she had injured 19 years ago, causing pain and limitation of movement in her neck.
19 years of pain and limitation of movement is a long time!
The class gathered around her to pray for her. Faith levels and expectation on their part were high. I’m not sure what the faith levels of the recipient was, but you can imagine that 19 years of pain is dispiriting and its almost guaranteed that she had received prayer on numerous occasions without result over that period of time. Yet she had the faith to ask for prayer again. (Something about the parable of the persistent widow comes to mind!)
The class prayed and as you can hear from her video testimony here, the Holy spirit did a remarkable work moving down her spine, vertebrae by vertebrae; on her shoulder, we had laid a prayer cloth that we had obtained from the outpouring at Victory Church in Cwmbran. As the cloth was laid, she felt heat, like deep heat penetrating the shoulder and healing the pain.
Literally within seconds the pain was gone and movement had returned and she was healed!
Let me hear an “Amen” and a “Hallelujah” to that! 🙂
However, I say all the above to say this: without the year of discipleship and training, there would not have been that level of expectation and faith.
The difference between the beginning of the year and the end of the year was this: at the end of the year the class would have been surprised if nothing had happened: at the beginning, they would have been surprised if anything had happened.
That is the point and purpose of discipleship and training. That is what Jesus did over a three year period, training the disciples to understand, experience and operate in the kingdom of God with confidence and effectiveness.
