Our Encounter Year students go out Tuesday afternoons to give prophetic words or pray for healing. On this Tuesday, they were offering prayer for healing when a women who had broken her back (and had issues with her left lag as a result) came up to them to ask for prayer. Often when we pray for people the presence of the God is felt through heat, for this woman (and on a warm day) it was the feeling of ice cold. Her pain when from a 10 (being where it was before they started to pray) to a 5, encouraged, the team offered to pray again. They asked God for more, commanded healing of her back and the pain went down to a 3.
When we begin our journey of stepping out in obedience and offering to pray for people we can feel put off if nothing happens the first time we pray. We often stop ourselves asking if the person would pray again. Maybe due to our own fear; fear of failure, fear of man, or maybe because we are worried of what person we are praying for is feeling. But, Jesus’, and the early church’s, ministry was one that was empowered by the Holy Spirit to see signs and wonders. The aim of this was to the point people to God so that they can step into relationship with Him, to be empowered to do likewise.
Our School of Supernatural Evangelism Students (both on the Encounter Year and Year 1 students) are on a journey of stepping out with God. They move from a place where they are surprised that something happened to being surprised when something doesn’t happen. If you want to start on their journey of living a naturally supernatural life then have a look at the courses we have to offer by following this link.
